When the word of God is faithfully proclaimed in the power of the Holy Spirit, it cuts like a knife. "For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword." (Hebrews 4:12)
When the great Physician steps into someone’s life by invitation, He says, "I know the plans that I have for you, plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) However, even when the Gospel is preached with love, clarity
and compassion, some take it as being too poignant and yield to a subconscious
feeling of rejection. Their response elicits touchy feeling symptoms. God’s
remedy is, "For God so loved the world, He
gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Wisdom cries out that we patiently wait upon God, until Jesus is received and Christ is nurtured in souls in need of His redeeming love. In times like these too many ungodly people, religious or secular, are hell-bent on preaching their own private beliefs, excluding God from their hearts and lives and abandoning men and women
to a pleasure-pain philosophy of life.
O Lord, my God, may Your redeemed remnant take hold of your vision for the building up of the Body of Christ and for mercifully reaching the lost at any cost in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
For, only by your calling and Holy Spirit power can your intercessors seek your face, standing in the gap and breach. You, Lord Jesus, are the only One that is able to make the difference between Heaven and Hell for individual souls in a lost and dying world.
Our loving Heavenly Father is mercifully waiting for prodigal sons to come home to Him, because of what His Son Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary. We serve a risen Savior, who said,
"He who has ears to hear let him hear."
